An Accident I Saw

ایک حادثہ جو میں نے دیکھا

A few weeks ago, I witnessed a road accident while returning home from school. The sun was about to set, and the street was filled with the usual traffic. I was walking on the footpath when suddenly, I heard a loud crash. A motorcycle had collided with a speeding car at the corner of the road.

چند ہفتے پہلے، میں نے اسکول سے گھر واپسی کے دوران ایک سڑک حادثہ دیکھا۔ سورج غروب ہونے والا تھا اور سڑک پر معمول کے مطابق ٹریفک تھا۔ میں فٹ پاتھ پر چل رہا تھا کہ اچانک ایک زور دار آواز سنائی دی۔ ایک موٹر سائیکل تیز رفتار کار سے ٹکرا گئی تھی۔

The motorcyclist fell to the ground and slid several feet before stopping. The car came to a halt a few meters away. People from nearby shops and homes rushed to the scene. Some tried to help the injured man, while others called an ambulance and the police. Thankfully, the rider was wearing a helmet, which saved him from a serious head injury.

موٹر سائیکل سوار زمین پر گر گیا اور کئی فٹ تک پھسلتا چلا گیا۔ کار کچھ میٹر دور جا کر رکی۔ قریبی دکانوں اور گھروں سے لوگ فوراً وہاں پہنچے۔ کچھ افراد زخمی شخص کی مدد کرنے لگے، جبکہ دوسروں نے ایمبولینس اور پولیس کو فون کیا۔ خوش قسمتی سے موٹر سائیکل سوار نے ہیلمٹ پہنا ہوا تھا جس کی وجہ سے اُسے سر پر شدید چوٹ نہیں لگی۔

The ambulance arrived within ten minutes. The paramedics checked the man’s condition and took him to the hospital. The police also arrived and began their investigation by talking to witnesses and checking the traffic camera footage. The car driver admitted he was in a hurry and did not notice the bike.

ایمبولینس دس منٹ کے اندر پہنچ گئی۔ طبی عملے نے زخمی شخص کا معائنہ کیا اور اُسے اسپتال لے گئے۔ پولیس بھی موقع پر پہنچی اور گواہوں سے بات کر کے اور ٹریفک کیمرے کی ویڈیو دیکھ کر تحقیقات کا آغاز کیا۔ کار ڈرائیور نے اعتراف کیا کہ وہ جلدی میں تھا اور اُسے موٹر سائیکل نظر نہیں آئی۔

This accident taught me an important lesson: never rush while driving and always follow traffic rules. It also made me realize how a small mistake on the road can risk lives. I still remember the fear on everyone’s face that day, and I pray for the safety of all travelers.

اس حادثے نے مجھے ایک اہم سبق دیا: ڈرائیونگ کے دوران کبھی جلد بازی نہ کریں اور ہمیشہ ٹریفک قوانین کی پابندی کریں۔ اس واقعے سے مجھے یہ بھی احساس ہوا کہ سڑک پر ایک چھوٹی سی غلطی بھی زندگی کو خطرے میں ڈال سکتی ہے۔ آج بھی مجھے لوگوں کے چہروں پر اُس دن کا خوف یاد ہے، اور میں تمام مسافروں کی حفاظت کے لیے دعا گو ہوں۔
