Romanian football fans received a welcome update ahead of Thursday’s Europa League play-off clash between Aberdeen and FCSB. While the first leg at Pittodrie Stadium in Scotland will only be streamed in Romania through the Voyo platform, supporters now have another way to keep up with the action.
Radio România Actualități confirmed it will broadcast the Aberdeen – FCSB match live in audio format starting at 9:45 PM, August 21, 2025. The game will be available across traditional radio frequencies, as well as online through the station’s website and mobile app. The station also streams on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music, ensuring wider accessibility for fans.
Key points of the broadcast:
-
Kick-off at 9:45 PM Romania time
-
Video stream in Romania only on Voyo
-
Audio broadcast free on Radio România Actualități
-
International TV coverage on BBC Scotland and DAZN US
For many Romanian fans, this option is the only free way to follow the team’s performance in Scotland, especially given that no local TV channels are carrying the game. The same approach was seen earlier this summer, when FCSB’s qualifying match against Drita was also unavailable on television.
At Pittodrie, a strong home turnout is expected. The stadium holds around 21,000, with more than 19,000 seats designated for Aberdeen supporters. Roughly 1,000 FCSB fans are expected to make the trip, occupying the away section. Despite the intimidating atmosphere, FCSB manager Elias Charalambous highlighted the importance of fan support, noting that Romanian supporters follow the team across Europe.
The Aberdeen – FCSB encounter marks the first leg of the Europa League play-off, with the return leg scheduled for Bucharest next week. The outcome will determine which side progresses to the group stage of the competition.
